My new Yamaha DGX-230 keyboard is defective - no 'A' keys work on the entire keyboard. The display doesn't even show I'm pressing the keys either. Is there anything I can try? There is no convenient way for me to get it repaired. (I'm an American living in the Philippines and had it shipped here for almost the cost of the keyboard itself).

Touched by an angel I have been in the midst of an MS 'exacerbation episode' when this treasure arrived. My son unpacked it, so beautifully packed, and set it up for me to learn about when I was feeling up to it. I saw this amazing instrument in my living room each day while I was quite sick, and it brought a smile every time.
I can't wait to get started! My dear son has been taking care of my computer business, but I told him that I wanted to personally thank and send love to you from Iowa. I'm sorry it's taken so long. I knew that you would know about MS and how quickly it can take one down.
My 'episodes' are like relapse times 10! I am finally ready to get busy with my new keyboard!!
I swear it has more buttons and do-dads than I've ever seen. Brandon says 'It's easy, Mom. We'll get it' I can hardly wait to make it sing like a calliope. There's a guy on YouTube who uses this exact instrument to make calliope music. I love the sound of the old paddlewheelers coming up the river with their sweet music. There are no more boats or calliopes any more, and a new calliope for home use is over $12,000! It was on my 'bucket list' until I saw the YouTube guy and then saw this keyboard!!
It's a match made in heaven, just for me. I'm so very happy. There was a small dent in the speaker cover on the right side, but it's minor and doesn't affect the sound at all. So, I have alot of learning to do and I'm eager to get started. Thank you and thank you for bringing this joy into my life, when often there is little. It is certainly much more complicated than my Clavinova, but I look forward to finding out all about it!
